Polish firm to reduce BMW 3 Series weight by 68 kg

"We began innovative automotive projects 10 years ago. The first vehicle for which we created a project was the Mercedes Sprinter. We started by producing simple components related to the steering system. It originally weighed 9 kg, and we managed to reduce it to 8 kg. Currently, we also collaborate with BMW, for which we have developed the most interesting solutions. We've started a project for a new vehicle in the 3 Series—commonly called the ‘three’. Production of the BMW 3 is scheduled for 2018. Our task is to reduce the car’s weight by 68 kg. We have about one year for this."—comments Roland Krause, CEO of MM Systemy.
