Polish jurors at Cannes Lions 2016

In the new Entertainment Lions category, works will be judged by Izabela Derda, Head of Entertainment and Content at Havas Sports & Entertainment. The category’s chair will be Jae Goodman from Creative Artists Agency (CAA).

Barbara Pleban from agency Multi Communications will judge entries in the PR Lions category. The chair of this category is John Clinton from Edelman.

35,500 entries and Lion statuettes

Over 35,500 entries are submitted annually to the world’s most prestigious competition in advertising and communications. Winning companies receive statuettes of the iconic Lion, a global benchmark for creative excellence.
This prestigious event brings together the industry’s top experts, and the awarded Lions are the most recognizable accolades in the broad communications industry.

The festival as a dose of inspiration

„Above all, it’s inspiration — a dose of inspiration!
The Cannes Lions Festival has become a cultural event in the media industry. Just one visit is enough to make you want to return every year. It’s a true celebration of advertising, and sometimes also a marketplace of vanity, but everyone is there — global advertising titans, film stars, journalists, celebrities, writers, global media, and all those working in the ecosystem of media, advertising, technology, and creation. This means every guest has the opportunity to meet top industry figures, listen to interesting speeches, and get inspired by learning from the biggest names in the world of media. One of my favorite aspects of the event is also the music, which always sets the mood and features performances at an incredible level — some artists can only be seen here. Add to that technological innovations often experienced for the first time in the world. This year, we expect not only the heads of major global advertising groups, but also John Cho, Anna Wintour, Iggy Pop, and Gwyneth Paltrow… All this makes the Cannes Lions Festival one of my favorite events on the global industry map.” — Małgorzata Węgierek, CEO Havas Media Group in Poland.

When and where the festival takes place

Participation in the Cannes Lions Festival is a significant distinction and also a confirmation of the highest quality communication. This year, an exceptional group of creators, jurors, and participants will meet in France from June 18–25, 2016. The festival is also the only true global gathering place for advertisers and experts in advertising and marketing communications.

"For me, the festival in Cannes is incredible human energy. I think it will be a fantastic source of inspiration delivered in the best possible form. It’s also an opportunity to look at advertising much more broadly and experience that beyond the daily industry routine, there’s 'something more.' It’s also a great chance to build new connections, exchange experiences, and learn. This year’s festival agenda is impressive — so much so that it’s hard to choose what to miss. It’s also a huge honor to represent your country at such an important festival, so I’m really counting on a good result. Keep your fingers crossed!" — Bartosz Włodarczyk, 180heartbeats + JUNG v. MATT, Polish representative in Young Lions Design.
